About My Work

Connie Lundquist is an artist in Brunswick, Maine. She grew up in Westfield, New Jersey; graduated from the University of Arizona; spent a year sailing; moved to Maine in 1973; worked as a paralegal; went to law school; and practiced law in Bath, Maine for almost 20 years.

She dabbled in art all her life, from life sized construction paper "people" collages of early childhood to the "edge art" borders on her legal notes. Connie stopped practicing law in the late nineties and decided to focus on her artwork. She has been studying art formally for over fourteen years.

Connie has been active locally since moving to Brunswick in 2002. Among other activities, she helped found the College Neighbors Association, seeking to relieve town/gown pressures. For the last six years, Connie has helped produce the Brunswick 10x10 Art Exhibit and Sale benefitting Arts Are Elementary, this year serving as Co-Chair of the 10x10 Committee. From 2010 - 2013, she took a break from her studio to become Interim Director of the Five Rivers Arts Alliance, during which time she was instrumental in reviving the Brunswick Second Friday ArtWalk.

Connie is delighted to be back creating art. She has been a judge for several juried art shows in the greater Brunswick area. This year she began serving on Brunswick's Village Review Board.

After opening her first studio at Fort Andross, Connie settled into her current studio at 98 Maine Street in Brunswick. She lives in Brunswick with her husband Jay and their two dogs Mr. Jones and Bean.
